About the company
How did you get started with Motor City Tour Company?
The idea started from a wine tasting bus trip in Southwest Michigan. On the trip back to Detroit, Steve & Laura Johnson discussed how to create that experience with breweries. In the summer of 2009, they made that idea a reality with Motor City Brew Tours. They plan to continue with new Michigan themed tours under the name Motor City Tour Company. They call the tour experience, part education and part social hour.

What breweries do you tour on Motor City Brew Tours?
We rotate the breweries we tour on every event. Since June 2009, Motor City Tour Company has toured over 40 breweries and provided transportation to 4 local beer festivals in Michigan and completed more than 60 events. With over 90 breweries in Michigan, we have a lot more that we plan to visit in the future. We support Michigan breweries and brewpubs by serving our tour guests 100% Michigan made beer, wine, mead and spirits. Help support the local economy by coming on one of our tours. Together we can all build a stronger economy in Michigan.

About the Bus Tour
What is a Motor City Brew Tours Bus Tour?
A typical tour is a guided 5-hour bus tour to 3 different breweries. At the first tour stop, we will serve you a light lunch, sample at least 3 different beers and go on a guided tour of the brewery. As we make it to the second and third tour stops, we will also go on a tour or have Q&A time with the brewer, manager or owner. You will sample at least 3 different beers at each of these brewery stops. We typically spend a little over an hour at each brewery. That gives you plenty of time to experience what the brewery has to offer. Some breweries will offer us special beers not available to general public and others will have beer specials at the bar. Growlers and bottles are available to purchase at every stop and can be consumed on the bus or stored in available cooler. The bus will have ample supply of water & snacks available to the tour guests. Bus Tour - FAQ
